Tour Itinerary
From Marrakech, we’ll pass through the town of Sidi Mokhtar, where we’ll make our first stop of the day for some local morning refreshments. Before arriving at the last stop of the day, we’ll first take you through the Argan tree forest, where you might catch a glimpse of goats climbing the branches of the Argan trees. You can also take some time to visit a local women’s Argan oil cooperative, where they will explain how Argan oil is produced and how it is used in cosmetics and traditional treatments. You’ll then have the opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view of Essaouira and get a great look at the Medina before exploring it on foot.
The Medina of Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Within the shade of its historic walls, you’ll have time to explore the Medina’s famous historical monuments and landmarks, including the souks, where you can stroll through the lanes lined with local merchants, the historic gates of the Medina, the Sqala du Port, and the city’s ramparts. By the sea, you’ll find a platform with historic cannons facing the ocean. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste some of Essaouira’s delicious local seafood.
