5-Day Authentic Morocco Desert Adventure

AGADIR ⤍ TALIOUINE KASBAH ⤍ TAZNAKHT ⤍ AÏT BENHADDOU KASBAH

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel in Agadir and begin our journey to Taliouine, a town renowned for its saffron fields and rich Berber heritage. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Kasbah of Taliouine, a fine example of traditional architecture and an important part of the region’s saffron-producing heritage.

From Taliouine, we’ll continue to Taznakht, a picturesque town known for its beautiful Berber carpets. The local artisans’ traditional weaving techniques offer a fascinating insight into Moroccan craftsmanship and culture.

After exploring Taznakht, we’ll continue to the iconic Aït Benhaddou Kasbah. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its remarkable earthen architecture, has been used as a backdrop for numerous films and TV series, including Gladiator, The Mummy, Black Hawk Down, and Game of Thrones.

AÏT BENHADDOU ⤍ ROSES VALLEY ⤍ TODRA GORGES ⤍ ERFOUD ⤍ MERZOUGA DESERT

We will pick you up from your riad or hotel in Aït Benhaddou and start our journey with a one-hour drive to Kalaat M’Gouna, known as the “City of Roses”. This small Berber town is famous for its annual Rose Festival, held every May.

Next, we’ll head to the Todra Gorges, a stunning natural wonder known for its towering cliffs and deep, narrow canyons. The area is popular with hikers and climbers. We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant in the Todra Valley.

Finally, we’ll continue to the Merzouga Desert, where you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the towering sand dunes. Spend the night in a riad/hotel in Merzouga and enjoy the peaceful desert surroundings.

MERZOUGA ⤍ NOMAD FAMILY ⤍ TOUR OF THE DUNES ⤍ KHAMLIA ⤍ HASSI LABIED OASIS 

Today, we’ll explore the Merzouga Desert by 4WD. We’ll start by visiting a local nomadic family and learning about their daily life and traditions. We’ll then drive off-road through the desert dunes, enjoying the scenery and the different landscapes around Merzouga. After the dune tour, we’ll continue to Khamlia village, where you’ll meet the Gnawa people and have the chance to enjoy their traditional music. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in Merzouga.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit Hassi Labied Oasis, a small green area with palm trees and traditional irrigation channels. Later in the day, you’ll take a camel ride to the desert camp, which takes around 1 to 1.5 hours, with a short break to enjoy the sunset over the dunes. Dinner will be served at the camp, followed by traditional music and a night in the desert.

MERZOUGA DESERT ⤍ RISSANI ⤍ NKOB ⤍ TAMNOUGALT KASBAH ⤍ AGDZ

Today, you can wake up early (optional) to enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the sand dunes. Then, return to the camp for a traditional breakfast. After breakfast, we’ll pick you up and continue our journey with a drive of about 30 minutes to Rissani Market. The market is an important trading place in the region and is divided into different sections. You’ll find a wide variety of local products and everyday goods used by people from the surrounding area.

Our next stop will be N’Kob, where we’ll stop for lunch before continuing to the Kasbah of Tamnougalt. This historic fortified village is known for its traditional adobe architecture and narrow alleyways. A walk through the kasbah offers a chance to discover more about the area’s history and local culture.

AGDZ ⤍ TAOURIRT KASBAH ⤍ ATLAS STUDIO ⤍ HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS ⤍ MARRAKECH

Today, we’ll pick you up from your riad in Agdz and head towards Marrakech. Our first stop will be the Kasbah of Taourirt, a fine example of traditional Moroccan architecture. This historic kasbah was once an important residence of the Glaoui family and is known for its traditional adobe buildings, detailed decorations, and maze of rooms and courtyards.

Next, we’ll head to Atlas Studios, known for its impressive film sets and long history in the world of cinema. From there, we’ll continue through the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the changing scenery, rugged landscapes, and beautiful mountain views along the way
