Marrakech is one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the fourth-largest city in the country. The ancient part of the city, known as the Medina or the “Red City,” was founded between 1070 and 1072 by Yusuf ibn Tashfin, leader of the Almoravid dynasty, and was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994. This historic tour offers you a unique opportunity to get as close as possible to the city’s historical monuments and taste some of its local foods.
This full-day trip allows you to visit historical sites with a local guide, including the Ibn Youssef School and the Saadian Tombs, followed by a visit to one of the most beautiful palaces in Marrakech, known as the “Bahia Palace,” which was built in the 19th century. You will also have the opportunity to walk freely through the narrow alleyways of the Medina and discover the daily life of the local population, as well as watch artisans practicing their traditional crafts. You’ll also get to stroll through the souks and their lively stalls before reaching Jemaa El-Fna Square. It is the historic main square and the living heart of the city, where people from the surrounding areas come to sell their goods.
Before ending the day at your riad, you’ll have the chance to visit one of the most visited places in Marrakech, the “Majorelle Garden,” also known as the Yves Saint Laurent Garden.
