Morocco is a year-round destination, with each season offering a different way to experience the country. The best time to visit depends on the regions you plan to explore and the type of trip you have in mind.

Spring (March to May)

Spring is one of the best times to travel around Morocco. The weather is generally comfortable, making it a great season for exploring Marrakech, travelling through the Atlas Mountains, and spending time in the Sahara

Summer (June to August)

Summer can be very hot, particularly in Marrakech and southern Morocco. For a more comfortable journey, the Atlantic coast and northern cities can be a good choice. Essaouira and Agadir benefit from cooler coastal breezes, while Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, and the northern coastal towns offer a pleasant alternative for exploring Morocco during the warmer months.

Autumn (September to November)

Autumn is another popular time to visit Morocco. Temperatures become more comfortable after the summer, making it a good season for longer journeys that combine the cities, mountains, and desert.

Winter (December to February)

Winter is generally mild during the day in southern Morocco, although temperatures drop in the evenings and can be quite cold in the desert at night. It is a good season for exploring Marrakech and the south, especially if you prefer cooler daytime temperatures.

When Should You Visit Morocco?

If your trip includes Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, and the Sahara Desert, spring and autumn are usually the most comfortable choices. But there is no single best season for everyone — the right time depends on where you want to go and what you would like to experience.
