Over 8 days in Morocco, you’ll embark on a tour beginning from Menara Airport into the Marrakech Medina. Marrakesh is a fascinating blend of ancient traditions and timeless sights; see them all on a comprehensive Marrakesh city tour with our local guide. Next, you will take an exhilarating ride through the Sahara Desert, including the ancient Ait Benhaddou kasbah, where you’ll traverse the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Continuing through Ouarzazate, known for its cinematic landscapes, you’ll explore the Skoura Oasis and Roses Valley before reaching the dramatic Dades Valley. Next, experience the towering Todra Gorge before delving into the Sahara Desert at Merzouga’s Erg Chebbi dunes, where camel treks and desert camps await. Heading south, you’ll explore Rissani’s vibrant market is a lively hub of the area commerce then continue to Zagora for the palm oases of the Draa Valley. Visit Tamegroute’s historic library and Pottery. The Tour peaks at Erg Chigaga’s remote dunes an ideal place to relax after all the distance travelled. Detailed Itinerary

1st Day: Arrival at Marrakech airport

Welcome to Morocco! Your guide will pick you up at Marrakech Airport to your hotel.

Your private full-day tour will start from your hotel with a local guide, where you’ll visit the historical monuments and discover how is life for local population. The ancient part of the Marrakech city known as the Medina, founded in 1070-1072 by the Almoravids and in 1994 was included into the UNESCO World Heritage site.
You will visit the Bahia Palace one of the beautiful palaces build in the late 19th century. Then visit the Saadien’s Tombs, which were built in the late 16th century. Ibn Youssef School is an islamic Madrasa, founded in the 14th century by the Almoravid Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf. Next, let’s walking through the narrow alleyways of the Medina towards Jemaa El-Fna Square, while enjoy walking through the narrow alleyways packed with market stalls that sell handmade objects and jewelry for all tastes. The Jemaa el-Fna square is a main square of the city and gate to the souks. Here the merchants of the area come to display and sell their goods. Marrakesh – Aït Benhaddou – Kalaat M’Gounai – Dades Gorges

In the morning and after your breakfast, you’ll starts your journey from Marrakech and drive towards the Dades Gorge through Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass 2.260m. Time for a short stop for some great photos and rest. Next, we will go on to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and one of Morocco’s most famous sites. Once we arrive, it will be time for lunch and have a memorable lunch. Ait Benhaddou is a fortified historic kasbah and was a major stop point on the ancient caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara. Many various movies were filmed at this historic site such as Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, The Message, and most recent critically acclaimed series Game of Thrones. The last stop of the day is to Kalaat M’Gounai, known as the “city of roses”, a resort town in South-East Morocco. It’s a small Berber town and famous for the annual festival of roses that is held in May. From here you can find the wonderful view on Roses Valley. Overnight inyour riad at Dades.

Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast and check-out, we’ll visit the stunning winding road in the Dades Gorge – one of the most amazing attraction in the authentic south. Its located between the Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountains. Its most striking feature is the Dades Gorge, which is rich in gorges and karstic canyons that form a landscape of eroded rock formations. On the way back to the main road, we’ll stop to seeing the Volcanic Rocks known as Monkey fingers. We’ll then continue further south to Todra River. It features stunning scenery and rock walls up to 160 metres high on each side. Next, we’ll left towards a small village named Touroug. Free time for lunch in a local restaurant in Touroug.
We’ll then drive to Merzouga. From there you’ll have the opportunity to seeing a fascinating panorama view of the high sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Once we arrive, you will meet the camels driver and take a trekking as the sun sinks below the horizon. The desert landscapes, sand dunes, friendly people and peaceful atmosphere all make Erg Chebbi an ideal place to relax after all the distance travelled. Watch the magnificent sunset and take picture of this beautiful views in the heart of the dunes. Traditional Dinner and night in the Berber camp.

Merzouga – Rissan – Alnif – Taghbalte – Zagora

Wake up to a hearty breakfast in the desert camp. Next we will pick you up and commence our trip with the half-hour drive to Rissani Market. Its the heart of the regional trade, and divided into several parts. The vendors offer a wide selection of products, both local and imported, to satisfy the needs of the region’s residents. Our next stop on route to the Alnif. We will stop for lunch before heading to Zagora. Overnight in your riad at Zagora.

Zagora – Tamegroute – Erg chigaga

Zagora is famous for its incredible palm grove and unique sites of interest. after breakfast we move to Tamgroute village, where you’ll visit famous Quran Library, subterranean Kasbah and pottery manufacture. Quranic library is the Zaouïa Naciria that contains more than 4000 books, founded in 17th century by elders from the Zaouïa Naciria. Next we will take a little walk to subterranean Kasbah, you’ll have a photo opportunity at the Kasbah. Then visit the pottery is completely made by hand in the traditional way, and industry was inherited by the people area from their grandparents.
Proceed to El Mhamid is the last oasis of Draa valley, before to entering the Sahara and Erg chigaga dunes. Have lunch in a local restaurant. Next, we continue our journey to the last stop through the sand track to Erg Chigaga. Once we arrive, you will meet the camels driver and take a trekking as the sun sinks below the horizon. Erg chigaga – Lak Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Marrakesh

Morning we wake-up early (optional) to see the amazing sunrise above the sand dunes and then return to the camp for typical breakfast and check out. Next, we’ll continue our journey to Foum Zguid village through Lake Iriqui by Paris-Dakar road. En-route we’ll make stops by various wonderful landscapes. Lunch will be here in this small Berber village. Then we traveling high in the mountains on the way back to hotel/riad in Marrakech.

Today, there’s free time until the transfer to the Marrakesh airport for the flight to the next destination.
