Experience a thrilling 4×4 tour of the expansive dunes, and soak in the serene beauty of the desert landscape.

Visit the traditional Khamlia village to enjoy the soulful rhythms of Gnaoua music, and engage with local nomad families to gain insight into their unique way of life. In the evening, you’ll begin on a serene camel trek across the golden sands, experiencing the timeless beauty of the desert landscape, and enjoy the sunset above the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Cap off your evening with a traditional dinner under the stars, accompanied by local folk songs and dancing around the campfire. Next day, you will visit the historic Tamnougalt Kasbah, located near the Draa River. This well-preserved kasbah is renowned for its traditional mud-brick architecture. Then explore Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The site features a series of fortified towers and narrow alleyways that showcase the rich history and architectural ingenuity of the region.

Detailed Itinerary

1st Day: 333km
Marrakesh – High Atlas Mountains – Taourirt Kasbah – Roses Valley – Dades Gorges

After a great breakfast you will be picked up by your driver-guide in your private vehicle and travel to the southeast of Morocco. Our first stop of the day is to high Atlas Mounatins of Tizi n’Tichka, a high mountain pass in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, at 2,260m, featuring stunning views and Berber villages. We’ll making a brief stop for a cup of coffee in the peaks of the mountains and you will be introduced to the a local ladies’s cooperative of Argan oil and shown how to extract it from the trees and use it in cosmetics and treatment. Next, we drive towards Ouarzazate city. Once we arrive, it will be time for a lunch before proceeding to explore Taouarirt Kasbah, is a historic 17th-century fortress known for its traditional earthen architecture and stunning design. Next, we traveling to roses valley, known for its extensive rose gardens, fragrant blooms. Located in the southern part of the country, near the town of Kelaat M’Gouna, this valley is renowned for its annual Rose Festival, celebrating the harvest of the rose. Afterward, we move to the dades gorges are a dramatic series of canyons in Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains. Known for their striking rock formations and deep, narrow valleys, the gorges are often called “the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” due to the numerous ancient fortified villages that dot the landscape. Visit Money Fingers is a notable rock formation resembling outstretched fingers. Next, we move to visit the panorama view of Tissdrine before concluding our tour, where this viewpoint provides sweeping views of the rugged terrain, with its impressive rock formations and the lush Dades River valley below. Overnight in your riad at Dades Gorges.

Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Ksar El Khorbat – Merzouga

On the second day, you’ll be picked up from your riad and driven to Todra Gorges, dramatic canyons in Morocco’s High Atlas renowned for their towering rock walls and stunning views, ideal for walking and climbing. Next, we continue our journeys to ksar El Khorbat in Tinejdad for a delightful lunch , followed by a visit El khorbat, an ancient fortified village in Morocco, located in the Draa Valley. The site offers a glimpse into traditional Berber life and architecture, making it a fascinating destination for those interested in Moroccan history and culture. The next stop of the day is to Merzouga desert. From there is a beautiful panoramic view of high sand dunes. Overnight in your riad in Merzouga.

Merzouga – Khamlia – Nomad Family – Tour of the Dunes

Today, we will begin our day on a 4×4 adventure to explore Merzouga desert. Our first stop is Khamlia village, home to the Gnawa people, an ethnic group with roots in West Africa, though they speak Berber as their primary language. The Gnawa are known for their unique cultural practices, including music, dance, and spiritual rituals. Next, we’ll visit local nomad families who still adhere to their traditional lifestyle. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with them, learn about their customs, and even participate in activities like milking camels or baking bread. Following this, enjoy an exhilarating off-road drive through the desert dunes to take in the ever-changing landscapes. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Merzouga. The day concludes with a 1h-1.5h camel ride to the desert camp, where you’ll experience a stunning sunset. Cap off your evening with a traditional dinner under the stars, accompanied by local folk songs and dancing around the campfire.

Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Tamnougalt Kasbah – Agdz – Ouarzazate

On day 4 You’ll ascend the dunes to witness a stunning sunrise–a truly memorable experience. Return to the camp for a traditional breakfast, then head to Rissani town to visit the traditional market. It’s a key trading hub where locals and visitors alike experience authentic Moroccan culture and commerce. The market is also famous for its distinctive architecture and its role as a historic center of trade in the region. Next, travel to Alnif then N’kob, where lunch will be in a nice restaurant in N’kob. After that, we will heading to explore Tamnougalte kasbah, which was founded in the 16th century, is renowned for its historic architecture in the Draa River valley. Next, we’ll drive to Agdz, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the palm oasis from the mountain. Overnight in your riad in Ouarzazate.

Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou Kasbah – Telouet – Marrakesh

Today, we’ll pick you up from your Ouarazazte riad and take you to the Atlas Studios, is one of the largest film studios in the world. Established in 1983, it has become a prominent location for filming due to its dramatic desert landscapes and traditional Moroccan architecture. Next,  we move to explore kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, where known for its stunning earthen architecture, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a popular filming location for movies like The Mummy, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Lawrence of Arabia and series Game of Thrones. Afterward, we drive to Marrakesh through Telouet. Overnight in your hotel/riad at Marrakesh.
